Aug 4 Tasked by Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton to assist sailboat - close to shore and disabled - 1POB - thunderstorm - located and towed to Oakville Harbour

 

Aug 10 Coast Guard Radio issued a Marine Assistance Broadcast - Disabled Bow Rider 3POB South of Bronte - Located and towed to safe haven

 

Aug 22 CALLOUT - Rescue Boat and volunteers depart Oakville Harbour responding to vessel in distress - Tasked by Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton – located and assisted distress vessel 4.75 NM SE of Bronte Harbour

 

Aug 22 Vessels off Oakville reporting areas of zero visibility in dense fog

 

Aug 22 Second CALLOUT of the day. Stood down by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton before launching Rescue Boat - vessel made it safely to harbour

 

Aug 26 Tasked by Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton to search for overdue vessel with Halton Region Police Service Marine Unit – Vessel located by RCAF Hercules aircraft and CCG Cape Storm

 

Aug 26 Possible fishing vessel in distress identified by RCAF Hercules aircraft - tasked to investigate - stood down when vessel observed to be under way

 

Sep 6 CALLOUT Rescue boat Tasked by Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton - major search off St. Catharines for Burlington man – Niagara Region Police Marine Unit, Canadian Coast Guard, RCAF Hercules and Griffon Helicopter, GAMRU, HBRU conduct intensive search directed by Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton

 

Sep 6 Search continues as dusk falls. Members drive from Oakville to Port DALHOUSIE for crew changes and refueling to keep Rescue Boat in search area as long as possible.

 

Sep 7 After extended search yesterday, today is "Recruit Day" screening applicants wanting to be Marine SAR Volunteers

Oct 4 Good Samaritans from Bronte Outer Harbour Marina rescue 2 from flipped 14' skiff Halton Region Police Service Marine Unit recover vessel

 

Oct 8 Played host at our HQ to 25 Cubs & 6 Leaders - preparing for watercraft badges

 

Oct 26 Missing boater we searched for in September found deceased - Peel Police conclude investigation

 

Oct 31 Our 2014 patrol season ends but 24/7 CALLOUT service continues

 

Nov 8 60th season of serving Oakville boaters ends today as Rescue Boat is hauled for the winter.
