15-Apr Rescue Boat back from winter storage. Preparations for new season continue. 
16-Apr TOWARF Emergency Callout Crew met today to get ready for the season. Crew safety and risk management topped the list of topics.  
16-Apr More than 25 members participated in the cold water survival course today. Training included use of safety gear in Oakville's Centenial Pool

28-May the crew received a call from a concerned boater regarding a diesel fuel leak from a vessel in Oakville Harbour. We investigated and notified Oakville Fire, the Harbour Master and the Owner. 
29-May TOWARF offers literature, equipment display and free boat check at Bronte Outer Harbour Safety Day 
2-Jun tonight's crew removed a 7 plus meter log from Lake which was a hazard to vessels departing Oakville Harbour  
6-Jun TOWARF crew on standby for Rescue Centre as fishing boat found adrift off Oakville this morning  
8-Jun Town of Oakville has erected signs at Bronte & Oakville harbours alerting boaters to marine emergency contacts 
8-Jun tasked by Rescue Centre to assist a disabled vessel - towed to Oakville Power Squadron dock  
11-Jun Tasked by Trenton Rescue Centre to assist disabled power boat - towed to safe haven 
12-Jun Open House at TOWARF during Oakville Mayor’s Picnic Lakeside Park - More than 350 visitors take advantage of open house to learn about our marine search and rescue service 
27-Jun Metro Police Marine Unit received a Mayday TOWARF tasked by Rescue Centre to search towards Toronto for vessel. 
29-Jun there was a Mayday Relay from Prescott Coast Guard Radio regarding a missing sea doo. We searched with Metro and Peel Police until the vessel was located. 
1-Jul Rescue Boat on show for Bronte Canada Day event! 
1-Jul   The Rescue Boat worked with the Halton Police Marine Unit in securing a safety zone for the Bronte fireworks display. After the show was over we were tasked to assist a disabled vessel which we escorted to Oakville Harbour. 
2-Jul Tasked by Rescue Centre to assist disabled motor vessel - 2 POB - towing to Bronte 
3-Jul Assisted vessel in distress 2POB off Clarkson tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton 5-Jul Call from stranded Bayliner off Bronte 3POB - tasked by JRCC - towed to safe haven 
8-Jul Removed hazard to navigation from Bronte Harbour mouth - 6 mtr long dead head 
9-Jul fishing vessel with engine failure phoned for help - tasked by JRCC - towed to Bronte Outer Harbour. 
17-Jul assisted disabled 40 ft vessel 2POB off St Laurence Pier - tasked by JRCC - towed to Oakville Harbour 
19-Jul emergency crew activated today by rescue center - powerboat 4POB disabled off Port Credit - Good Samaritan towed to safe haven 
19-Jul   The Rescue Boat was tasked by the JRCC to Hamilton Beach to assist with a search for a missing swimmer. Crew 3 Captain John Grant was designated the position of On-Scene-Commander by JRCC. This involved organizing s search conducted by Hamilton and Halton Police Marine Units and Hamilton Beach Rescue Unit as well as coordinating with Hamilton Fire and Police on shore. Sadly, divers ultimately found the teenage girl swimmer diseased.  
22-Jul Callout crew tasked for 24 foot vessel 7nm off oakville at at 4pm. Stood down boater got engine going when we were half way there! 
23-Jul Tel call - disabled power boat 2POB no VHF radio - tasked, searched, located and towed to safe haven 
24-Jul 0930 callout activated 20 foot vessel 2nm off St Lawrence pier. Stood down prior to departure Good Samaritan towed them to Oakville 
28-Jul Rescue Boat spend productive evening of training with Grimsby Coast Guard Auxiliary unit 
30-Jul Phone call at HQ from 35 ft disabled sailing vessel off Bronte. We responded and towed vessel to Bronte with 4POB. Not a tasking. 
3-Aug 911 call to HRPS - capsized catamaran off Burlington Piers - People in the water - cancelled as crew righted their vessel 
6-Aug   There was a Pan Pan for an overdue solo sailor from Mimico. An observant member of TOWARF had previously spotted the vessel leaving Oakville Harbour and confirmed its identity with a local club. This resulted in finding the overdue vessel. 
7-Aug   The Rescue Boat assisted Halton Police Marine Unit in closing Oakville Harbour while Oakville Fire and the Ministry of the Environment investigated a fuel spill. 
9-Aug   The Callout Crew was activated at 2 in the morning by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre to assist a stranded fisherman with no VHF radio – only a cellphone. The crew searched for the vessel, located him and towed him to Bronte. The tasking was finished by 6 a.m. just in time for our volunteers to head out for their day jobs! 
12-Aug Provided first aid to child with fishing injury to hand adjacent to HQ 12-Aug searched for swimmer between Bronte & Shell Pier - tasked by Rescue Centre - HRPS confirmed person found on land 
13-Aug L.O.S.T. Swim Club stages Lake Ontario race off Oakville - TOWARF & HRPS available for emergencies 
13-Aug Oakville Fire responding to fire on vessel in Bronte Outer Harbour Marina – standing by if assistance required 
14-Aug Tel call from family member - 24 Ft sailboat unable to enter Oakville Harbour - out of fuel - 5POB - towed to safe haven 
16-Aug Emergency CALLOUT Crew activated at 4:15 AM - 15 ft vessel taking on water in Humber Bay - stood down - Metro Police on scene 
20-Aug Provided courtesy tow to small power boat with engine failure. 
22-Aug Stood by to assist if required by sailing vessel with engine problem. 
24-Aug    A call from a concerned Oakville parent prompted a search for a 24 foot vessel with 5 persons aboard.  We located the vessel and towed it to safety in Oakville. 
24-Aug Severe Weather Alert! Squall hits Oakville 2143 hrs. Checked welfare of sailing vessel cought in storm and escorted them to Harbour 
26-Aug notified by HRPS - Tasked by Rescue Centre - Catamaran off Oakville taking on water - Hazy conditions - located with Marine Unit 
27-Aug Recsue Boat visits Port Credit In-Water Boat Show 
9-Sept    We received a curious email to our website from a Toronto woman concerned about the status of a friend sailing on Lake Erie. We contacted the writer and put her in touch with JRCC Trenton. It turned out that there was cause for concern and a Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel on Lake Erie was dispatched and towed the distress vessel to a safe haven.

10-Sep Tasked by rescue centre - distress call from de-masted sailboat in Humber Bay 1POB - no GPS position 
11-Sep Emergency call from Rescue Centre. CALLOUT crew scrambled. Vessel on the rocks near Oakville Harbour - good Samaritan assisted. 
11-Sep Tasked by Rescue Centre to assist disabled vessel near Clarkson - Peel Police assisted by escorting to Port Credit 
11-Sep Pan Pan from vessel off Burlington - Rescue Boat responded but stood down as distress vessel making own way 
17-Sep    Crew 10 had invited Councilor Pam Damoff for a “ride along”. She got more than simply a demonstration. While responding to one tasking – towing an out of fuel vessel – the Rescue Boat received a Mayday call for a kayaker in distress. The kayaker was rescued by another vessel on scene. 
17-Sep advised by HRPS Dispatch - 23 ft Catalina - out of fuel close to shore at Petro Pier - towed to Bronte Outer Harbour 18-Sep Mayday call overturned sailing vessel 2 PIW - tasked by Rescue Centre but stood down when emergency resolved 
6-Oct   We received a call from an Oakville homeowner that a 38 foot sailboat was aground. The Rescue Boat was dispatched, refloated it and escorted the vessel to harbour. This was done on a courtesy basis. 
31-Oct 2011 Patrol Season ended on Halloween. Rescue Boat still available for Emergency Callout until November 12. 
7-Nov Called out by Rescue Centre after dark to assist disabled 30 ft sailboat off Oakville Harbour - towed to Bronte - 1 POB 
11-Nov Our Marine Rescue Volunteers join veterans and emergency services marching to Oakville cenotaph for Remembrance Day 
12-Nov 2011 Season ends - Rescue Boat hauled and winterized
